CEO & Co-Founder

Journel Joseph is Intellegi’s CEO and Founder. He is responsible for setting the overall direction, culture, vision and strategic priorities for the company.

Journel is a multilingual data scientist with over 15 years of combined experience in healthcare, STEM, leadership development, threat intelligence, and education. He is a team builder, book author, speaker and entrepreneur who draws inspiration from his multidisciplinary education, immigrant story, background and diverse experiences that contribute to shaping his values and how he approaches his work. Journel is the author of the book “Data and Analytics 4.0: The Future of Work, Privacy and Trust in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” This book was selected by Book Authority as one of the top 20 best analytics books of 2019. He is the co-author of “Cybersecurity Awareness for Healthcare Workers.”

Journel has provided technical and analytics solutions to the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), the Department of Education, and SAMHSA, as well as working for the Executive Leadership Council (ELC), New England Research Institutes – acquired by HealthCore. Journel is highly-skilled in developing software solutions, building AI/ML models, and providing cyber-threat intelligence analyses. He is also passionate about developing and utilizing representative and inclusive datasets to train language models or AI systems. He has an impressive track record for his ability to take complex topics and make them relatable to everyday people, while still providing in-depth information. Journel is also a cofounder of NursePrep and 1804 Academy. 

Journel is a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University with a Master of Arts in International Trade, Economics, International Affairs & Security Studies. In addition, he has a Master of Public Policy with focuses on Environmental Health from the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy & Planning (UEP) at Tufts University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Technology & Media from the University of Massachusetts. He has completed a 2-year NSF-funded training in Program Evaluation & Applied Research with focuses on innovative use of technology, STEM learning & teaching experiences. He holds a CAGS in Program Evaluation from Tufts University.
